Colorado Inside Out - March 16, 2007

On this episode of CIO, the panel discusses the Colorado state resolution that added John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" as a second state song. This discussion continues regarding another resolution, one that states Colorado's support for U.S. troops, but against the proposed trrop build up in Iraq. The proposal is modeled after other proposals currently being debated in other state legislatures. The third topic of the program discusses yet another compromise on Amendment 41. This proposal would put the ultimate decision back to the voters in 2008. And, as with every episode, the last segment is the easiest and hardest part of the show, name your Disgrace of the Week and then Say Something Nice About Somebody.

"In a political process when partisanship too often carries the day, this is truly a bipartisan achievement, with bigger results for Colorado," Penry remarked when the bill passed. "I never would have guessed that this once controversial proposal would earn such bipartisan support."
